Grandkids Child Care
Providing exceptional care to children ages 6 weeks to 12 years.
Our Approach
Our daycare is a unique part of St. John’s Circle of Care, where children and residents share their days in laughter, learning, and love. From singing and crafting to mealtime conversations and faith lessons, these moments create bonds that are both joyful and lasting.
1
Learning Happens Across Generations
We believe children and older adults enrich each other’s lives. Intergenerational relationships build confidence, wisdom, and a sense of belonging for everyone involved. Our community fosters friendship, purpose, and companionship as we bring generations together and bridge the gap.
2
Every Child Is Loved, Valued, and Supported
We believe each child is a unique creation of God who deserves a nurturing, stress-free environment filled with encouragement and care. Parents are a child’s first and most important teachers, and we partner with families by sharing daily experiences and supporting each child’s growth.
3
Welcoming and Inclusive Community
We believe our program should be accessible to all families. Children thrive when surrounded by loving adults who model respect, kindness, and cooperation. Our role is to help each child grow in independence, develop confidence, and learn to work and share with others.
Intergenerational Care
Each day children in our care interact with the residents of St. John’s Circle of Care.
Routine activities include reading stories, singing songs, creating crafts, and eating together. Special events like building bird houses, indoor beach parties, tea parties, fiestas, and the annual Christmas program bring extra joy to residents and children alike.
At GrandKids and V.I.K. (Very Important Kids) Club we focus on the whole child. We want to help your child grow intellectually, physically, emotionally, and spiritually into a well-rounded member of our community.
Our Program
At St. John’s Grandkids, learning is hands-on and joyful. Our curriculum builds social, physical and cognitive skills through play, exploration and real experiences. Caring teachers guide children as they discover, create, and grow, inspiring curiosity and confidence through:
Creative Arts: Explore, imagine, and develop skills through hands-on art and dramatic play.
Science: Spark curiosity as children explore, question, and discover the world around them.
Math: Solve problems and develop critical thinking through hands-on exploration of numbers, patterns, measurement, and everyday concepts.
Language: Build communication, vocabulary, and early literacy through reading, conversation, and engaging activities.
Social & Emotional Development: Develop relationships, self-awareness, and community skills through guided interactions with peers and older adults.
Faith & Values: Cultivate kindness, respect, and community through prayer and weekly visits with our Chaplain.
Our Child Care Team
Each classroom is led by licensed, highly trained teachers who create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment. Staff stay current in early childhood education, are certified in First Aid and CPR, and have on-site nursing support. Volunteers and substitutes help ensure consistent, engaging care for every child.
