Being a toddler is very exciting! Your toddler will learn many new things through exploration and play. Skills we work on in the toddler room include:
- Being nice to friends
- Socializing with resident of St. John’s during station visits
- Using manners
- Building small- and large-motor skills
- Learning numbers and ABCs
- Recognizing shapes and colors
- Using words to express emotions and needs
- Toilet training as the child is ready
A typical day in the toddler room looks like this:

| 10:45 a.m. – 11:15 a.m. | Outside or Large-Motor Play |
| 11:15 a.m. – Noon | Lunch |
| Noon – 1:00 p.m. | Personal Care/Free Play |
| 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. | Nap |
| 3:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. | Personal Care/Free Play |
| 3:30 p.m. – 3:45 p.m. | Snack |
| 3:45 p.m. – 4 p.m. | Afternoon Group Time/Music |
