Nursing Department is divided into separate stations. Each
station is headed by a qualified supervisor who is responsible
for the total nursing care required each day. To assist
with care, we have licensed personnel 24 hours per day on both
floors and permanent staffing who provided individualized care
for each resident. The goal of the nursing team is to
provide for the resident's basic needs with dignity, respect,
and privacy. Our physicians come to St. John once a month
to conduct their rounds. The Laboratory Department from
the local hospital comes three times a week to draw blood for
any ordered lab tests.
St. Johns will
provide a dental examination, in conjunction with the
Springfield Dental Clinic. to the resident at no cost.
This will consist of checking the teeth and oral cavity.
It is done upon admission and annually thereafter. If
further work is needed, an appointment is made with the dentist
of their choice. Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy,
and Speech Therapy services are provided to the residents of St.
Johns at the order of their physician. The
Social Services Department is designed to be a professional
service to the individuals, families, and the care team.
Social Workers help residents and their families deal with
problems of age, illness, disability, family life, and
finances. Each resident will
be provided with regular, well prepared, nutritious meals.
Therapeutic and modified diets will be provided as ordered by
the attending physician. A Registered Dietitian helps plan
menus and is available to advise in other food service
activities. The Dietary Department takes pride in pursuing
a wide variety of innovative service methods and providing
special menus for many occasions. Guest meals are also
available at a reasonable cost. St.
John's Therapeutic Recreation Department provides a full range
