Cottonwood
Ridge Apartments |
|
Cottonwood Ridge Apartments is a 24-unit congregate housing complex for very low
income persons age 62 or older. Cottonwood Ridge is located on the campus of St.
John Lutheran Home on the southeast edge of Springfield, Minnesota just off Brown
County Highway #5 near the Cottonwood River.
Cottonwood Ridge is financed by the U.S. Department of
Housing and Urban Development (HUD) which provides rental assistance to tenants.
Under the Rental Assistance Program, income eligible applicants pay up to 30% of their
adjusted gross income for rent, after allowances for recurring medical expense.
Cottonwood Ridge is registered as a
Housing-with-Services facility by the Minnesota Department of
Health.

Eligibility Requirements |
A person may be eligible to live at Cottonwood Ridge Apartments if she/he:
- is 55 years or older
- qualifies as low-income under current HUD guidelines

Applicants are placed on the waiting list while their application is being reviewed for eligibility.
- No application fees or gifts are required or accepted.

Applicants who meet certain verifiable preference criteria as established by the Department of Housing and Urban Development receive priority.
